Latest News.... 11th January 2012 CVL League - Friday 6th January Once again girls and boys from around the region gathered for the Wolves Academy Basketball Central Venue League. First basket of the night went to Claudio Almeida who shot the Worcester Wolves Boys U12s into an early lead against Hereford U12s. With Hereford at the head of the table and beating Worcester earlier in the season, it was a big match for the Wolves boys. Despite some excellent defensive work from Hereford's Vasco Felix, the Wolves maintained a small margin until the buzzer, a 20-5 win which takes them above Hereford in the league, but only on points difference. Wolves Girls U14s were unable to follow on from the good work of the U12s, losing to Hereford U14s 31-8. Hereford coach, Steve Farmer, praised his team for their hard work and in particular, Jamie Donald's vision and outside shooting. Abigail Finn and Laura Tiffney shone for the Wolves, but Hereford were too strong. With two more evenings of basketball before the Finals night, all three leagues (U12, U14, U16) are hotting up with most teams still well in contention for top spot. |
